Family Law Facilitator Program

If you do not have an attorney, we CAN help you to:

(2) select and learn how to fill out forms to request or modify

The Facilitator CANNOT:


(1) give you legal advice

(2) help with Adoptions, Juvenile/Dependency or Criminal court cases.

Office Hours:

Appointments:  For individual assistance with your case, the Family Law Facilitator Office offers appointments on weekday afternoons.  Each appointment will take approximately 30 minutes.  To schedule an appointment you must call (805) 788-2491 on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  At this time, you may not leave a message on this phone line.  Those customers with appointments will be seen at the Court Support Services Building at 1120 Mill Street, Ste. A in San Luis Obispo.

Divorce Workshop:  The Family Law Facilitator also offers Divorce Workshops to review all the forms you need to start your divorce case. Customers will be given an opportunity to complete the forms as the workshop is conducted. Once customers complete their forms, the Family Law Facilitator will review the completed forms and make the necessary copies. The Family Law Facilitator will also explain the steps you must follow to complete your case.  You must register for this workshop as space is limited. To register for the Divorce Workshop you must call (805) 788-2491 on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  The Divorce Workshop is a group session so you must arrive on time.

The Divorce Workshops will be offered in both the Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo Courthouse.

 

Walk-in Child Support Clinic: The Family Law Facilitator is available at the Court Support Services Building located at 1120 Mill Street, Ste. A, in San Luis Obispo on Wednesdays from 1:30 p.m to 4:30 p.m. to assist with child support issues only.  Customer are seen on a first-come first served basis. 

Walk-In Family Law Clinic:  The Family Law Facilitator is available on the 3rd Floor of the Courthouse located at 1035 Palm Street in San Luis Obispo on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  On these days and hours we are available to assist with all family law issues including divorce, child custody, child visitation, child support, spousal support, legal separation, annulment, paternity, domestic violence and Department of Child Support Services cases.  Customers are seen on a first-come first-served basis.

What Should I Bring?

Please bring all of your case paperwork and a blue or black pen.  Also, if you need help calculating child support, please bring your most recent paystub or other proof of income and any information you have about the other parent's income.
